The La Crescent Apple Festival Board of Directors cordially invites you to participate in our Annual King Apple Parade. Each year, the King Apple parade is held on the Sunday of Applefest at 1:00 PM in La Crescent, MN.

The parade starts at 1pm. The staging area will open at approximately 10 am. We request that all units enter town as soon as possible and make their way to the staging area as indicated on the map that you will receive prior to the parade. All units should be in the line-up no later than 12:15pm. There will be parade official available after 10:30 am to direct you if needed. All units will be judged DURING the parade. The judging stand will be located at the corner of South 2nd and Oak Street. ALL BANDS will stage near Prince of Peace Church parking lot West of N. Hill St. and transportation should proceed to the HS parking lot for post-parade pickup. 

Candy may be handed to spectators, but should not be thrown from moving units. All equestrian units must provide clean up. Due to small children in attendance at the parade, please be cognizant of any use of extreme noise makers, such as airhorns. 

The Applefest Board of Directors will greet you at the end of the parade. Disassemble your unit PAST the high school, after the Board of Directors.  

Awards will be announced after completion of the parade, in the King Apple Tent on the fest grounds. 

La Crescent Apple Festival requires a certificate of insurance from all motorized parade vehicles. Please attach your certificate of insurance to the application below, or have it sent to my attention.

 

Please submit your registration form by September 14. 

 

Information regarding the staging area, line up numbers, judging and place of awards presentation will be posted on this website’s Parade News – Blog page before the parade.

  • Please attempt to use an address that will reach your organization regardless of personnel changes.
  • Please attempt to use a phone number that will reach your organization regardless of personnel changes.
  • Email will only be used save postage on Applefest parade correspondence. Please attempt to use an email that will reach your organization regardless of personnel changes.
  • Please enter a short description of your unit that will help with distance calculations. (e.g. walking unit, car, truck and trailer, semi tractor and trailor)
  • Provide copy as you would like it heard on the air by our TV Broadcasters.
