Nominations for the 2026 Man & Woman of the Year are open!

Each year, The La Crescent Applefest Board awards two outstanding community volunteers as Man and Woman of the Year. Nominee names are kept and voted on for three years. The names are hidden on the nomination letters so that the determination is made on merit alone. Nominations can be sent to the Applefest Board from nominee peers, family members, friends, and coworkers. Recipients need to reside within the ISD #300 district and must be involved in volunteering for the community.

The deadline for nominations is Monday, July 6th, 2026, for this year’s consideration. Nominations submitted after July 6th, will be considered the following year (and if not chosen, for up to two years after).

New this year, the winners will be notified of their honor and asked if they are willing to accept. However, the public announcement will be made at the event itself which will be determined at a later date. The changes made to the process and the event itself are the result of thoughtful suggestions of a “focus group” made up of past MWOTY.
